Basra Gateway Terminal (BGT), together with the General Company for Ports of Iraq (GCPI), organized a tree-planting campaign at the Port of Umm Qasr to help combat climate change and contribute to a more sustainable future. Climate change is a big challenge for Iraq and its progressively developing industrial sectors. BGT’s and GCPI’s campaign covered the planting of more than 200 trees around the non-occupied areas in the port. The campaign also focused on the longevity of the trees as well as the social responsibility of the parties involved, which would be among the key components of a greener future.
