The BGT Procurement department has been recognized as a strategic value driver within ICTSI, winning “Best in Procurement Catalogs Utilization” at the 2nd ICTSI Global Procurement Awards. This marks BGT Procurement’s second consecutive recognition, following its win for Best in Financial Performance at the 1st ICTSI Global Procurement Awards on March 20, 2025.
This accomplishment shows the extraordinary efforts our staff is doing on a daily basis, to match the company's expectations to maximize the efficiency and workflow.
Procurement, in close coordination with Finance, led the institutionalization of structured buying through approved procurement catalogs. Finance supported this initiative by enforcing budget controls and compliance, ensuring that spend was routed through approved catalogs only. This joint approach eliminated additional spending, improved cost visibility, and enabled better forecasting and financial planning.
By securing fixed pricing through catalogs, both teams successfully mitigated market volatility and ensured cost predictability in a fragmented and supply-constrained Iraqi market.
A key initiative was the enhancement across all procurement activities. Procurement applied disciplined sourcing practices and technical and commercial challenges, while finance reinforced approval thresholds, budget validation, and cost tracking mechanisms.
